About luck like that...I recently was laying cork roadbed on my 
soon-to-be-completed layout. The straight sections were easy, but the 
switch areas sometimes were a pain. I tried to find cork sections 
specially made for switches and crossings, but couldn't find them. 
However, now that all the cork is laid (with track on top of it), I 
managed to find some in the local hobby shops...

I also remember thinking "I'll kitbash an SW1." Lo and behold, as soon 
as I started putting some sketches together, Walthers SW1 was on the 
market...

well, I think you get the idea...
