SD45 No.6085 is one of the Erie Lackawanna units and these were numbered in
the upper 6000 series to try to group them with the ex Penn Central SD45s and
keep all of the straight SD45s grouped together. As for the one group of SD40s
that was originally ahead of them, these later got renumbered into the 6300
series to fit in w ith the SD40-2s that were starting to be delivered at that
time. If I recall correctly, the Erie Lackawanna SDs had a  wheel for a hand
brake. I hope i have been of help to all asking about this.
