To all who may bid on this PC badge, caveat emptor is the word.  There
are gobs of reproduced police badges out there.  The sellers claim
they bought them in "collections" and are passing the "rare opportunity
to buy" onto you.  Be wary of any offer that claims they are in mint
condition.  There are several badge manufacturers out there who will
stamp whatever you want on badge, including defunct railroads.  Now
I am not claiming anything about this particular seller as I don't know
him.  However, be very suspicious of any police badge you see for
sale.  Also, don't be comforted by the fact the seller is a person
of the law.  They are paid to enforce the law, not obey it (although
most enforce by example).  Thanks for bringing this to the list Walt. 
It may indeed be genuine, but that badge is a standard NJ design, so in
my humble opinion, it is suspect.
