PC: Repainting

I wouldn't worry about crash programs to repaint freight cars. At least
one NC&StL car survived the L&N, Seaboard System and CSX mergers with its
NC reporting marks intact! (The NC&StL was merged into L&N in 1957.) A
year or so ago I saw an ACY boxcar in a set of NS Mof W cars.

NS will probably repaint locomotives quickly, based on past experience.
It has been years since I've seen N&W or Southern paint, and that was in
a dead line. CSX, on the other hand, still has quite a few locomotives in
Chessie System, Seaboard System and Family Lines paint; it hasn't been
that long since I've seen C&O, SCL, L&N, RF&P and Georgia Route paint.
