The U36Cs were Erie Lackawanna engines 3315-3328, the nearest to these Penn
Central had were the lowere powered but nearly identical U33Cs, originally
ordered by the Pennsylvania Railroad, but all delivered Penn Central. Penn
Central did, however have Alco C636s, which were the last of the big Alcos to
be delivered to that railroad and among the last Alco units of any kind built
in the states. The C415 switchers finished out Alco new locomotive production.
