Hey gang,
Like Gene Fusco, I too have returned from a railfan trip to PC
country. Actually it was mostly New Haven and New York & Long
Branch country, but PC none the less. I spent 9 days in Connecticut,
New Jersey, and New York (including Long Island) chasing trains and
seeing the sights. A complete trip report will be posted on my
personal web site hopefully by the end of the week, and I'll let you
all know where to find it.
After wading through the 250+ emails in my inbox tonight, I'm happy
to see that you all were well-behaved while I was gone. :-) Actually,
you probably didn't even notice that I wasn't around.....
ObPC: Did nobody mention to me before I left, or did I hear and forget,
that one of the station signs at the Elizabeth, NJ, station is still the
original PC sign? I saw that last Thursday when I took in the afternoon
rush on the Corridor. That sign (and the rush hour) was neat! I would
love to talk to Amtrak about that....it would sure look nice in my
basement.... :-)
A few quick notes and replies from the past week:
-- Gene Fusco: Way to go! You 'da man!
-- Gary Farmer: Thank you very much....it's that kind of support that
keeps me running this list.
-- Everybody here from the Danbury Railway Museum: You guys are a class
act and have a great museum!
-- Everybody here from the Railroad Museum of New England: Ditto!
-- PC black F7 photos: One of those photos is already on my PC
web site, and the other is already in the queue and will be up
at the next update. (Hint: Look at the web site first! It's what
it's for! :-) )
-- PC roster information: The best PC roster I've seen is in Yanosey's
_PC Power_. If any of you guys ever come up with a decent detailed PC
roster, I'd be more than happy to host it on my PC site, since the
current roster I have on the web site isn't all that great.
-- Contributions to the web site: I can always use more. Feel free to
e-mail them to me (NOT to the mailing list).
More trip details later. In the meantime, carry on with the worms.....
Later,
-Jer
