Someone else wrote that NYC employees blamed PRR employees and vice-versa for
all the problems with PC. You may perceive the LIRR employees as unfriendly
and the MNRR employees as friendly because that's what you want to see. I
don't live in the east, but I went to school for a year at Villanova U and
rode the trains into Philly a lot during 74-75. SEPTA was just beginning to
bring on new equipment and PC was still running the trains. With the
occasional exception you find in any group, the conductors and crew I talked
with and dealt with were always friendly--and some of them were young. Keep in
mind that its more than 20 years later and today's society is not the same.
