Hello Roger,
The Railway equipment register for 1977 & 1987 says that cars in those number
series are 52' 6" steel gondolas. PC open hoppers run from 403XXX to 483XX.
Covered hoppers start at 875001. I couldn't find anything that would match up.
Did you get a photo?
