Just over 300 K9,K9A and K9B cars were rebuilt from X32 cars starting around
1959 and contined into the early/mid 60's. By the end of the 50's, the X32
were considered undesirable due to their 10' interior height while at the
same time there was a shortage of stock cars, hence the rebuild. The April
1970 equipment register shows only 22 cars lettered PC. All PC cars were
gone by October 1972, but three lettered PRR remained. #130010,130026 and
131033.
