At work we still refer to things by there former railroad names. I
spent a few weeks at Cicero Yard and Eola Yards. They still refer to
a transfer run as the Wabash Transfer. At work we
still call UP trains SP trains and still refer to shoving the
intercange to the Grande. The BN mainline from Pueblo to Texline is
refered to yet as the C&S. The train crews based out of Amarillo that
run to Texline are called DC crews, a term going back to the 1880's
when the railroad was the Ft Worth and Denver City, that after going
bankrupt was later reorginized as the Ft Worth and Denver.

It's not just a Penn Central thing.
Conrail has existed most of my life, yet I refer to things such as
"the NYC Toledo-Elkhart line" (despite tha fact that NYC was gone
before I was born). I do the same with CSX, it's "The B&O
Indianapolis Division", not whatever CSX calls it.
