I vote for Ned S.'s suggestion.  Even though this is a democracy, sometimes
someone needs to put their foot down even if some toes are stepped on.

In this era of computers and the internet even the ones that can't make it can
still be reached in a timely fashion.  Besides maybe whatever needs to be
decided by vote could eventually be forwarded by e-mail and the USPS.
