Thanks for the additional information, it is much appreciated.
I myself can't personally make a trip to DC for this info, however,
one of us does live in Virginia and I will be relaying the information
you provided on the archives to him. Several others posted to
the list and identified the location as the National Archives. Too 
bad they don't do mail order research!

I also received a suggestion that I contact a fellow in Wisconsin
who sells track charts and profiles. Maybe we'll be able to find
something by contacting him. I'll also try and obtain a copy of
the book by Tom Tabor if it's available.

I guess researching historical data and the mysteries that go
along with such work is what keeps this hobby so interesting!
