I remember seeing an episode of 60 Minutes that had quite a feature on
Penn Centrals deffered maintenance (I was still but a kid...).  The
thing that really stuck in my mind was the shots of wavey track, rotting
ties and the ability for the "host" (Mike Wallace?) to walk up to
virtually any spike on the section that they were highlighting and pull
it out with no effort. 

Over the years I have often wished I could get a copy of that segment
and watch it again.
