Eben- I'm a locomotive engineer working for Amtrak in New Haven. I hired
out with PC in 1971 and was set up in 1975 that mail story is very true.
W  Moore pres of PC at the end was on an inspection trip toward the end
of the PC and noticed an old mail car  up against the bumping block at
the mail house on Brewery Street in New Haven . Back in the 70's we had
mail house switchers round the clock and the mail business was booming .
Moore came through NH and noticed the car up against the overgrown
bumper block and saw the rusty rail leading up to it. He had it looked
into and discovered the load of mail!
